Latest Activities in Malaysia

CURRENT EVENTS:

The Underwater World Aquarium in Langkawi island is having special programs for the vacations from now till January 4th, 2009.  There will be snake and magic performances during weekends.   Also on weekends, there will be an Animal Walkabout Program where staff members will bring selected animals out (they have other animals beside fish) and visitors will be able to pat and feed them!

The Touch Pools area of the aquarium will be opened for visitors to have live interaction with the marine and freshwater animals.

Your kids will have a great time because there will be children’s games and activities lined up, including a coloring competition and free ice cream.  Santa will make an appearance to feed penguins and greet you on Christmas Day.  For Moslem visitors, the aquarium will host a korban feast during this coming Hari Raya Haji festival.

There will be mock remains of a sunken ship constructed and visitors can walk around inside! Read more about Langkawi and its other great attractions in my page Langkawi - An Introduction to Malaysia’s Top Destination.

In line with the aquarium’s ongoing upgrading efforts, they have brought in two new species of marine creatures - the weedy scorpionsfish and Philippine sea apple cucumber.
